FOOD IS MEDICINE

Gold Country Food Hub's Food Is Medicine program integrates healthy, locally and regionally sourced food into existing health and wellness programs, helping participants put nutrition education into practice at home.

Working with healthcare and wellness service providers, including Chapa-De Indian Health and Auburn Renewal Center, we source, aggregate and distribute nutritious groceries that complement our partners' health education and wellness programs. Our partners bring their expertise in healthcare, nutrition education and participant engagement, creating opportunities to integrate healthy food into the services they provide.

Through grocery distributions, cooking demonstrations and other educational activities coordinated with our partners, the program connects access to healthy food with the knowledge and skills to prepare nutritious meals.
