INSPIRED BY EXPERIENCE.

The Producer Resource Hub was inspired by GCFH founder Tammi Riedl's eight years of experience as a beginning farmer, establishing and operating Lincoln Hills Farm, a small-scale farm-to-market business in Placer County.

Navigating the extensive network of agricultural education, technical assistance and business development resources firsthand revealed an opportunity to make these valuable resources easier to discover and access.

That experience, combined with her ongoing work mentoring and connecting local producers, has helped shape the vision for a resource hub that brings expertise, resources and relationships together to support farm and food business development.

Knowledge. Resources. Connections.

PRODUCER RESOURCE HUB

EXPANDING ACCESS THROUGH TECHNOLOGY

Gold Country Food Hub has developed a working prototype of an AI-assisted online resource platform designed to help farmers, ranchers and artisan food producers navigate the extensive network of available resources.

The interactive platform allows producers to select areas of interest, describe their specific needs and receive personalized recommendations for educational programs, technical assistance, funding opportunities, events and other relevant resources.

The platform is also being developed to provide practical, locally relevant resource guides. One planned guide will help Placer County farmers navigate opportunities to sell produce and value-added products through produce stands, farm stands, certified farmers markets, wholesale and retail channels, including information on permits, food safety requirements and available technical assistance.

Initial development of the online Producer Resource Hub was supported by USDA funding awarded to Gold Country Food Hub as a technical assistance partner of UC Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) through the Southwest Regional Food Business Center.

The next phase of development will enhance the platform's functionality, expand its collection of resources and practical guides, and prepare it for public launch, creating a more accessible and personalized resource for farmers, ranchers and food producers.
